Revitalized Robert King High Towers, an iconic landmark offering seniors aged 63 and above a safe and affordable place to call home. Originally built in 1964, these three towers, located at 1305 NW 7th Street, underwent a comprehensive renovation to enhance both safety and amenities for residents. The extensive renovation project, which commenced in October 2020 and was completed in August 2023, included vital life safety improvements such as the installation of fire sprinklers and a generator. These enhancements ensure that Robert King High Towers serve as a place of refuge in the event of a natural disaster, providing residents with peace of mind and security. In addition to life safety upgrades, the renovation project focused on enhancing the resident experience. The main dining room, a historic venue for civic and political events, has been revitalized with new lighting, a state-of-the-art sound system, and a high-resolution projector screen. This 315-unit elderly public housing high-rise is complemented by the adjacent one-story clubhouse, known as the Robert King High Community Center. Together, these facilities offer a welcoming and supportive environment for residents to thrive. Robert King High Towers exemplifies a commitment to preserving history while meeting the evolving needs of its residents. With its renewed infrastructure and enhanced amenities, it continues to serve as a cornerstone of the community for generations to come.
